As Dean of the College of Information Technology at University of Bahrain,
Dr. Khalid Al-Ruwaihi oversees all academic and administrative matters. In
addition, over the past two years he has been involved in an initiative developed
by H.H. the Crown Prince and the Economic Development Board to reform the
Bahraini economy, and has chaired the committee “Reinforcing the Role
of Arab Women in Economic Development”. While on his fellowship,
Dr. Al-Ruwaihi will visit leading universities and corporations to examine
the latest strategies in management, promoting economic development, and
bridging the gap between universities and industry.

Dr. Khalid Mohamed AL-RUWAIHI Dr. Nafees RAHMAN
Dr. Nafees Rahman directs the National Forum of Organizations Working with
the Disabled, the only recognized national network of NGOs in the field of
disability in Bangladesh. During his fellowship, he will focus on advocacy
and service delivery, the development of appropriate technologies and employment
opportunities, and promotion of recreational and cultural activities for
persons with disabilities. Dr. CHEN Yulu
Dr. Chen Yulu is both Vice President of China’s prestigious Renmin University and a Professor in the School of Finance. His dual responsibilities as administrator and educator have allowed him to effectively combine teaching and educational management to gain a broad understanding of educational development issues. During his fellowship, Dr. Chen plans to visit government, regulatory, and private sector officials to gain a deeper understanding of American financial systems, and higher education administrators to exchange ideas on university management.

Christian Garcés is a legislator from Cali, Colombia, representing one of the fastest growing economies in the country. While on his fellowship, he will meet with leading experts to examine a variety of issues, including regional development, urban planning, political leadership, as well as education and environmental issues.

Nia DINATA
At the forefront of Indonesia’s filmmaking renaissance, Nia Dinata is an award-winning writer, director, and producer who focuses her lens on both traditional and non-traditional subject matter. To support her goal of fostering a sustainable film industry in Indonesia, Ms. Dinata will use her fellowship to examine all aspects of the U.S. film industry, from research and development to production, distribution, and archiving techniques, both in the independent and mainstream film industries.
Gil PEREG
Gil Pereg is Principal of Blich High School, a highly-regarded and innovative school. Among other degrees, he holds an MPA from Harvard and is committed to educating youth through a combination of high academic standards and a policy of tolerance and acceptance. On his fellowship, he will focus on educational politics, public sector economics and administration, school reform, and the role of corporate social responsibility in improving the U.S. education system.
Deema BIBI
Dedicated to creating long-term, sustainable growth through enhancing youth development and education, Deema Bibi is CEO of Jordan’s leading youth organization, aimed at building the skills of Jordan’s future workforce. While on fellowship, she will gain insights to the U.S. education system, visit exemplary youth empowerment programs, and learn about best practices in public private partnerships, corporate social responsibility, volunteerism, and board governance.
Dr. Samuel THENYA
Dr. Samuel Thenya is a pioneer in HIV treatment and gender violence remediation in Kenya who founded and directs the Nairobi Women’s & Children’s Hospital, the first hospital in east or central Africa devoted exclusively to the care of women. During his fellowship, he will explore issues related to healthcare leadership and health management systems in the U.S. as well as the latest entrepreneurial and business models in healthcare delivery.
Chak Hee AHN
Ms. Chak Hee Ahn is the Chief Anchor and Manager of Arirang TV’s daily news program. Arirang TV is Korea’s major international television station, reaching a global satellite audience of over 62 million households in 188 countries on all continents. During her fellowship, Ms. Ahn will examine how US – Korea relations may evolve in the coming years, study the nature of this relationship in the larger context of Northeast Asian geopolitics, and gain a greater understanding of how policymakers, journalists, and academics in the United States approach Korean peninsula issues.
Omar MUSTAPHA
Omar Mustapha is the co-founder of two consulting firms based in Kuala Lumpur which advise clients on strategy, organizational performance, and operational excellence. While on his fellowship, he will explore the role of political advisers in elections, analyze the performance of private equity firms in the mid-market sector, and promote a greater understanding of the Malaysian regional political economy.
Dr. Bolormaa TUMENDEMBEREL
Dr. Bolormaa Tumendemberel is Hospital Project Director with MCS Holding LLC, one of the leading private companies in Mongolia. During her fellowship, she hopes to advance her knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, focusing on health policy development, the health insurance system, and hospital management and administration. In addition, she will gain insight into professional health organizations and key U.S. democratic institutions.
David MCCONNELL
David McConnell is Managing Director of the McConnell Group, one of New Zealand’s largest privately-owned property and construction businesses. While on his fellowship, he will focus on enhancing his business leadership skills, learning about the latest research in project management strategies, specifically in the construction industry, and gain insights on how to improve a city’s image with a particular focus on tourism initiatives.

Hassan USMAN
Hassan Usman is Managing Director and CEO of ASO Savings and Loans Plc, a majority government-owned mortgage company located in Abuja and in the midst of transition to privatization. During his fellowship he would like to broaden his exposure to cutting-edge concepts in the worlds of business, economics and politics, obtain an in-depth understanding of U.S. economic and political models, and draw appropriate lessons applicable to Nigeria.
Iyad MASROUJI
Iyad Masrouji is Vice President of Jerusalem Pharmaceuticals of Palestine, responsible for expanding the global presence and productivity of the company. While on his fellowship, he will meet with pharmaceutical industry, NGO, and government leaders to discuss trends in biotechnology as well as pharmaceutical innovation methods and practices.
Jacqueline M. SAETTONE
Jacqueline Saettone is Managing Director of Stromboli s.r.l. and Co-Founder of Aleteia Capital. She provides professional services to her clients in the form of workshops and consulting services to help them create added value, wealth and well-being by identifying, creating and developing intangible assets such as knowledge, brands, innovation and service, among others. Ms. Saettone will use her fellowship to increase her understanding of intangible asset management and to develop her network of professional contacts in the U.S.

One of the first Romanian legal experts in the field of private equity, Irina Anghel is the founder and Managing Partner of the Law Office of Irina Anghel. She will use her fellowship experience to learn about the latest trends in entrepreneurial education, explore best practices in corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, and learn about the successful models of business incubators.
Dr. Suaad Fahad AL-HARTHI
Dr. Suaad Al-Harthi directs and supervises the progress of educational and administrative initiatives for the country’s education system in Saudi Arabia and also provides strategic planning for Saudi Arabia’s Girls’ Colleges. During her fellowship she will meet with experts in higher education administration to study higher education management, programs to develop education leaders, and strategies for the development of national educational policy.
Zuzana WIENK
Zuzana Wienk is the Executive Director and founder of Fair Play Alliance, a non-profit government watchdog organization. She is responsible for managing the organization and its programs and is the organization’s primary representative to the public. During her fellowship, she will focus on ethical government practices, government oversight, and non-profit management practices.
Nona SONJANI
Nona Sonjani is responsible for financial planning, reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) at South African Airways. During her fellowship, she will focus on mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, and the promotion of entrepreneurial development in marginalized and underrepresented populations.
Dr. Somkiat TANGKITVANICH
Dr. Somkiat Tangkitvanich is Research Director at the Thailand Development Research Institute, where he is responsible for drafting legislation and regulations on privatization, public procurement, telecommunications, and broadcasting. During his fellowship, he will focus on the impact of technological convergence in the ICT market, market-based regulatory instruments, and initiatives to reform economic and political institutions.
