Eisenhower Fellowships 2009 USA Program Recruitment

In fall 2008, Eisenhower Fellowships USA program will conduct recruitments for our Agriculture, Philadelphia, New England, and St. Louis programs. USA fellowship candidates should be U.S. citizens, aged 32-45, who possess advanced professional credentials, proven leadership capability, and the potential for broader impact in and beyond their professional fields.  The Fellowship covers all international and domestic travel, hotel accommodations, and meals for Fellow and spouse. 

Possible Destination Countries:

  • Africa: South Africa, 1 week adjunct program in Kenya
  • Asia: China, China (Taiwan), India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, 1 week adjunct program in Indonesia
  • Europe: European Commission (Brussels) Germany, Ireland, Russia, Sweden
  • Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile , Mexico, Peru
  • Middle East: Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia
  • Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

Eisenhower Fellowships strives to integrate our USA programs as much as possible with our international programs.  Therefore, we seek to identify and will give preference to candidates whose fields of interests correspond with current international program priorities.  In 2009, Eisenhower Fellowships will conduct a Common Interest program entitled, Fueling Growth which will focus on energy, the environment, and economic growth. Fueling Growth will offer a unique opportunity for emerging world leaders to examine the issues, devise solutions, and undertake follow-on projects as part of the EF network. USA fellows will travel to selected countries abroad to focus on such issues as:

  • Development and commercialization of efficient energy technologies, including renewable energy technologies and nontraditional fuel sources;
  • Public policies and private sector strategies to finance energy production and provide effective distribution infrastructures;
  • Impact of energy regulation and deregulation at the local, regional, national and international levels;
  • Regional and international cooperation on energy and environmental issues;
  • Environmental considerations in energy production, distribution and consumption. 

USA Fellows will participate with fellows selected from Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
